What to Expect: Students will be provided with a discussion on sharks focusing on myths, behaviors and conservation efforts. Following the discussion, students will divide into small groups and complete a shark tooth laboratory where they learn to identify different sharks based on the shape of their teeth. They will also learn how to estimate total body length based on tooth size. After the completion of the laboratory, students will pair up for a beach scavenger hunt. They will be provided with a field guide listing different marine life commonly spotted on the beach and compete to see who can collect the most items on the list.
Who Can Attend: All ages are welcome to attend. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied and supervised by a parent.
What to Bring: Participants must bring their own water and snacks.
Where to Meet: Participants will meet at one of the covered pavilions north of the Lazy Loggerhead Café at Carlin Park (400 Florida A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477).

Expenses: None. There is no park entrance fee.
