This event is limited to a maximum of twelve participants to encourage a positive educational experience. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent. All participants, including parents, must pay for their participation.

Participants will be provided with a guided tour of the shallow waters of a coastal mangrove swamp. The tour will begin with a discussion of the local marine environment including visual aids depicting species commonly seen throughout the area. Participants will then head to the water where hand nets and buckets will be used to collect and view specimens such as crabs, sea urchins, jellies and fish. Please come prepared to get wet!
This event will be led by Christa Jewett, a marine biologist with a B.S. and M.S. in marine biology and 25 years of experience in the field.
All ages are welcome to attend. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied and supervised by a parent. Participants will meet next to the playground at Dubois Park (19075 DuBois Road, Jupiter, Florida 33477). Participants must bring their own water and snacks.
Expenses: None. There is no park entrance fee.
Saltwater Studies’ biblically-based events include a discussion on both biological information as well as how we can see the character of God in Creation. Secular events focus on biological information only.
