Class Topic

This month we will be discussing gastropods and bivalves which includes animals such as snails, clams, oysters, scallops and mussels. We will spend the morning discussing the topic and reviewing the homework assignment. Students must bring their notes from their completed homework assignment with them to class so that they can participate in the class discussion.

Water or Beach Activity

Students will be led on a beach walk to collect a variety of sea shells from Coral Cove Beach. Students will then use the Florida's Living Beaches field guides to identify their collected sea shells.

Appropriate Attire: Students should wear beach-appropriate clothing and be prepared to get wet as they may need to wade into the water to pick up various sea shells. Students must also bring their own lunch and a filled water bottle.
