BIBLICALLY-BASED EVENT
ONE-TIME EVENT

What to Expect: During this guided beach walk we’ll explore the wrack line — the area where the ocean meets the sand — to discover the fascinating natural treasures that wash ashore. From seashells and seaweed to driftwood and hidden marine surprises, participants will learn about coastal marine life and the stories the tide leaves behind. We will provide buckets for collecting along the beach. This event will have a maximum of 12 students.

Who Can Attend: Children 4 years old and older. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied and supervised by a parent. All children attending this event must be registered students. Siblings of any age, including infants, littles or older siblings, may not accompany registered students.

What to Bring: Participants should wear beach attire appropriate for the South Florida sun and bring a filled water bottle. We also recommend bringing a small bag to take home any exciting discoveries your student finds on the beach.

Where to Meet: Participants will meet at the Sea Grape Pavilion in Mizell-Johnson State Park (6503 North Ocean Drive, Dania Beach, FL 33004). Upon entering the park, drive approximately 2 miles and turn right into Parking Lot #5. The Sea Grape Pavilion is located on the east side of the parking lot.

Cost: $45 per student

Expenses: The park entrance fee is waived for those participating in Saltwater Studies events. Upon arriving at the park, tell the park ranger at the entrance that you are attending a Saltwater Studies event.

Saltwater Studies’ biblically-based events include a discussion on both biological information as well as how we can see the character of God in Creation. Secular events include a neutral presentation that focuses on biological information only.
