BIBLICALLY-BASED EVENT
ONE-TIME EVENT
What to Expect: Participants will be provided with a guided tour of the shallow waters of a coastal mangrove swamp. The tour will begin with a discussion of the local marine environment including visual aids depicting species commonly seen throughout the area. Participants will then head to the water where hand nets and buckets will be used to collect and view specimens such as crabs, sea urchins, jellies and fish. Please come prepared to get wet! This event will have a maximum of 12 students.
Who Can Attend: Children 4 years old and older. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied and supervised by a parent. All children attending this event must be registered students. Siblings of any age, including infants, littles or older siblings, may not accompany registered students.
What to Bring: Participants should wear their swimsuits, beach attire appropriate for the South Florida sun and bring a filled water bottle. Close-toed water shoes are also highly recommended due to the presence of mud, oysters, barnacles and sharp rocks throughout the wading area.
Where to Meet: Participants will meet at Dubois Park (19075 Dubois Rd, Jupiter, FL 33477) at the picnic table next to the pirate ship playground.
Cost: $45 per student
Expenses: None.
Saltwater Studies’ biblically-based events include a discussion on both biological information as well as how we can see the character of God in Creation. Secular events include a neutral presentation that focuses on biological information only.
