Meeting Location

Ocean Inlet Park, 6990 N Ocean Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33435
Upon entering the park, turn left. We will meet under one of the covered pavilions.

Entrance Fee: None.

Facility Amenities: Ocean Inlet Park has all the standard amenities of a County park including covered pavilions, a playground, bathrooms, and beach showers.

Class Topic

This month we will be discussing rays. We will spend the morning enjoying the day’s activity and the afternoon discussing the topic and reviewing the homework assignment. Students must bring their notes from their completed homework assignment with them to class so that they can participate in the class discussion.

Water or Beach Activity

Students will view areas of the inlet where rays have historically been spotted, meet scientists from the Marine Megafauna Foundation and the Florida Manta Project who will demonstrate how they perform drone surveys of Florida’s manta rays and learn about scientific studies that are helping protect marine life.

Appropriate Attire: Students should wear beach-appropriate clothing. They must also bring their own lunch and a filled water bottle.
