Class Topic
This month we will be discussing cephalopods. We will spend the morning discussing the topic and reviewing the homework assignment. Students must bring their notes from their completed homework assignment with them to class so that they can participate in the class discussion.
Water or Beach Activity
Students will be led on a guided snorkel in the calm waters around Blue Heron Bridge, weather permitting. Students will be able to view an artificial reef that is home to a variety of local marine life including several different species of cephalopod including octopuses and squid.
Appropriate Attire: Students must wear their swimsuits and beach-appropriate clothing and bring their own snorkel and mask. Swim fins are not allowed during Saltwater Studies events, but water shoes are recommended as an alternative. All students will be required to wear snorkel vests provided by Saltwater Studies as a safety precaution.
