Class Topic & Learning Activity
This month we will be discussing rays. Class discussion will review different species of rays, focusing on the different types such as manta rays, stingrays, etc. while incorporating visual aids and specimens. For the learning activity students will perform an observation activity, viewing stingray spines under a microscope or a review game.
Water or Beach Activity
Beach activity includes visiting various areas of the park where rays have been previously spotted.
Appropriate Attire: It is always recommended that you come to class prepared to get wet. Have your child wear his or her swimsuit, beach-appropriate clothing, water shoes and bring a filled water bottle.
Please make sure that your child wears the appropriate clothing for our class. If your child does not have the appropriate attire (i.e. swimming suit, water shoes or snorkel gear) to complete the planned activity, unfortunately he or she will not be able to participate.
