For a more in-depth educational experience, Saltwater Studies offers a variety of Courses which include multiple sessions and field trips to provide students with a comprehensive overview of an individual topic. Courses range in length from 3 weeks to a full year and target students from 4th to 12th grade. They are offered in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
For students who enjoy learning in a hands-on environment, Saltwater Studies offers four different field courses in which students are taught to apply practical skills utilized by marine biologists in the field to study various environments. Field Courses include:
- Marine Ecology Field Identification Course (3 weeks)
- Sandy Beaches & Barrier Islands Field Course (4 weeks)
- Florida Marine Studies Course (8 weeks)
- Florida Marine Animals Course (8 weeks)
- Marine Research Course (14 weeks)

For students who enjoy learning in a classroom environment with supplemental hands-on field trips, Saltwater Studies offers three different classroom courses in which students are given a detailed overview of various aspects of marine biology. Classroom Courses include:
- Marine Ecosystems Course (13 weeks)
- Marine Animals Course (13 weeks)
- Marine Biology Course (26 weeks)
2017/2018 School Year
For the 2017/2018 school year, Saltwater Studies will be offering two different full year marine-related courses through BEHC.
Marine Animals Course. This course will provide a basic, biblically-based overview of various marine animal species for students in 8th – 10th Grade. It will be held on Wednesdays from 8:00 – 9:20 AM beginning September 2017.
Marine Biology Honors Course. This is an Honors-level course that provides a biblically-based overview of Marine Biology for students in 9th – 12th Grade. It will be held on Wednesdays from 9:25 – 10:45 AM beginning September 2017.

Class Series or Courses. If unexpected circumstances require you to cancel your registration, a full refund will be provided for cancellations made until one week prior to the first class. A 50% refund will be provided for cancellations made within one week prior to the first class and for students who drop out within 30 days of the first class. No refunds will be provided for students who drop out after 30 days from the first class.
