“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” – Romans 1:20
The Bible says that God has left evidence of His character in all of Creation that we might have a relationship with Him. It is our goal at Saltwater Studies to guide our students in a scientific investigation of the marine environment, consequently increasing their knowledge of our world and building their relationship with our Creator. We design every class, field trip or experience to be an adventure in learning as we explore God’s magnificent creation. So dive in! Get your feet wet! We pray that your life will be forever changed as you experience God in a new way.
What Can I Expect at a Saltwater Studies Event?
Prayer. Every Saltwater Studies class or field trip begins with prayer. At Saltwater Studies we recognize that the Lord is in control of His Creation. While we spend a large amount of time planning for the best event possible, it is the Lord who controls the logistics, including (for outdoor events) the weather and all marine life encountered. As such, we invite the Lord to reign over our events, bless them and ask Him to open the eyes of everyone participating so that they can see evidence of Him in all that He has made.
Scripture. Saltwater Studies incorporates biblical references in all its lectures and discussions to establish a Christ-centered focused for its events.
Scientific Information. Saltwater Studies professionals are knowledgeable in all aspects of the marine environment. Each Saltwater Studies event offers a wealth of scientific information presented from a biblical worldview. Participants are also encouraged to ask questions throughout the presentations to facilitate an interactive experience.
Worship. Saltwater Studies believes that interaction with Creation provides an opportunity for worship as we appreciate the Creator for all that He has made.
Thanksgiving. The Lord knows the hearts, minds, likes and interests of every person participating in a Saltwater Studies event. Oftentimes during Saltwater Studies’ field trips, participants will see an aspect of Creation that they particularly enjoy. At the conclusion of the Saltwater Studies event, participants are led in a time of thanksgiving, praising the Lord for His blessings experienced during the event.
“Every class is taught by a woman with a heart for God who is well-trained as a marine biologist. Not only has my son learned about the world around him, but I have too. I don’t know who enjoys the Saltwater Studies classes more…my son or me.” – Lisa Boisvert
“Christa is an expert in her field with the ability to be an exemplary communicator and her enthusiasm is contagious. She is a top notch educator.” – Tom DeRosa
“We have had the privilege of participating in classes and field trips with Saltwater Studies. Every class and trip has been awesome and has developed a love for marine studies in my children. Christa does a great job at always pointing us to the Creator!” – Laura Pittman
“My children have been taking Christa’s classes since the beginning of Saltwater Studies. My teen girls have enjoyed field work, field trips, learning in a lecture atmosphere and in a classroom setting. My elementary-aged son has participated in classes and field trips and has not only learned so much but has been excited about what he’s learning. As a parent I appreciate Christa’s perspective of the Creator and His creation and instilling proper priorities in her students.” – Andrea Soldini
“Christa helps us to see the handiwork of God, our Creator, through His creation with excitement and enthusiasm that is contagious!” – Cindy Dembeck
What’s in a Name?
Our core values at Saltwater Studies are beautifully represented by the three words comprising our company’s name: salt, water and study. While our name accurately represents what we do, each of these words alludes to Biblical truths that concisely describe our company’s beliefs and goals.
Salt. “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” – Matthew 5:13
We encourage students to maintain a Biblical focus and live a life dedicated to Jesus Christ that is set apart from the world. It is our goal to strengthen their spiritual foundation by providing them with Biblically-based views of God and His creation that they may live lives that are useful to Him.
Water. “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” – Ephesians 4:4-6
The word “water” represents one faith and one baptism as described in the Bible. We encourage students to remain uncompromising regarding the truth of God’s Word, the purity of the Gospel and the infallibility of Scripture.
Study. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15
We encourage students to study both the Bible and God’s Creation that they may be able to discern the truth and to correctly identify false scientific or religious teaching.
